Charlie Murphy's rapid evolution from "Chappelle's Show" cast member to top-billed international comedian, playing to sold-out audiences around the globe, has been remarkable. He has spent years performing his critically acclaimed stand-up show and solidifying his position in Hollywood as a true acting, writing and producing talent, in his own right.
Charlie has toured nationally w/ the "I'm Rich Bitch" comedy tour, featuring fellow "Chappelle's Show" cast members Bill Burr and Donnell Rawlings. "Charlie Murphy and Friends" and a co-headlining tour with Mike Epps followed. Next, Murphy co-headlined the 20-city "Maxim/Bud Light Real Men of Comedy Tour" with Joe Rogan and John Heffron. Soon after was the headline tour "I Will Not Apologize" for which Murphy filmed his first DVD special of the same title. Distributed by Image Entertainment, this special premiered on Comedy Central in the #1 slot and is available in stores, Amazon.com and iTunes.. Internationally he has invaded Europe and Canada, an accomplishment very few American comedians can boast of.
A career spanning 2 decades, Charlie has worked with top Hollywood talent such as Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Eddie Murphy, Danny Aiello, Terrance Howard, Gabrielle Union, Queen Latifah, Vanessa Williams, Rip Torn, Peter Falk, Redd Fox, Angela Bassett, Wesley Snipes, Jamie Foxx, Samuel Jackson and Sammy Davis, Jr.

Charlie's screenwriting credits include Norbit, Starring Eddie Murphy, which opened #1 at the box office, a remake of The Incredible Shrinking Man, Vampire In Brooklyn, Paper Soldiers for Jay-Z's Rockafella Films and Tales of the Dogg, an animated pilot for Snoop Dogg and MTV. His voice is a favorite as Ed Wuncler III on Adult Swims Boondocks, A Cat Named Rolo in the Black Dynamite animated series and Freaknik The Musical (T-Pain, Snoop Dog) as The Perminator.
Charlie has been a popular guest on a wide-variety of television talk, variety and news shows, including: Lopez Tonight, The Monique Show, The Joy Behar Show, and Fox Business's National Primetime Show.
In an effort to create Internet content, Charlie wrote, produced, and starred in Charlie Murphy's Crash Comedy, a series of webisodes for Sony Entertainment's Crackle.com. His web presence is additionally bolstered by a multi-media advertising campaign for Nike's Jordan Brand, featuring Charlie as long time Jordan nemesis/inspiration Leroy Smith and the up and coming "The World According To Charlie"
His autobiographical book entitled The Making of a Stand Up Guy, was published by Simon and Schuster and is available on Amazon.com.
In 2012 Charlie filmed his second live stand up DVD, "Charlie Murphy's Acid Trip" as well as guest starred in several episodes of TBS's hit show "Are We There Yet?"
The third of four children, to Vern and Janet Farmer (two hardworking, yet commendably humorous
parents). Whether it was family, people in the neighborhood or friends at school, Freeze could always
make people laugh. On several occasions groups would gather after school to hear Freeze “Snap”, tell
stories and do impersonations. It was in that moment Freez Luv was born.
In 1984, upon graduating high school Freez enlisted the U. S Army. He served as a soldier in the “Berlin
Brigade”. Because Freez’s platoon was nicknamed “the Hip-Hop Platoon” almost all of its members
picked up the name LUV behind their nicknames. While it started as a running joke between soldiers,
the name “Freez Luv” followed him until the present.
After completion of duty he returned to Los Angles to pursue a career in the music biz, as member of
rap group “AWP 360” using his new name “Freez Luv”. AWP 360 signed their first deal in 1987 with
Profile Records. Freez Luv hosted and produced “DA SPLRG “a Los Angeles hip-hop radio talk show
on 870KIEV AM from 1989 to 1991. In 1993, Freez landed his first movie “House Party 3” where he
shared the screen with Bernie Mac and Chris Tucker. In 1994, he recorded Def comedy jam in NYC,
that performance made it to “Def Jam All Stars “DVD. In 1995, Freeze starred in Snoop Dogg’s short
film “Murder Was the Case. In 1997 Freez Luv hit the road on a nationwide tour with Comedian Eddie
Griffin. To hone his craft, Freez Luv decided to move to NYC in 2003. He submerged himself into the
world of stand-up comedy, both underground and mainstream. Soon after his arrival to NYC, in 2004
Freez contracted as a writer and voice over actor for super director Spike TV.
Forging new relationships in New York City and putting a name to his face Freez hit comedy venues all
over the area from the tiniest hole in the wall to Caroline’s on Broadway.
In 2006, Freez Luv crossed paths with longtime associate Charlie Murphy and began featuring with
Charlie on the road.
Through the years Freez Luv has been a principal in other television series such as UPN’s “Malcolm &
Eddie” and HBO’s “Mr. Show”. Freez Luv has can be seen such movies as House Party 3, Showtime,
Dangerous Minds, Coyote Ugly, Baby Boy, The Hustle and CO2.
Freez Luv is constantly striving toward success. In 2012-2013 Freez Luv joined Charlie Murphy as a
feature on the critically acclaimed Acid trip Tour.
