Jesse L.J. Porter was born on May 4th of 1991. Jesse started doing stand-up comedy in the fall of 2008. He was a bit shaky and unsure in the beginning but, slowly his comedy has grown into something amazing. From doing open mic night to performing for the troops, from printing his own business cards to having his own t-shirts. Jesse delivers a sharp, witty, and hard hitting comedy act that has audiences roaring with laughter and begging for more. Jesse brings something new and unexpected to the table that 95% of people have never seen before. It’s something hot and fresh, sure to make memories worth talking about.
From the beginning Jesse has been guided by another comedian from his town, Steven Zehner. Zehner is more than just a comedian, he’s a mentor, a leader, and a friend. Zehner got Jesse pointed in the right direction and has been there encouraging and helping him out anywhere he can.
When Jesse is called onto the stage he has most people in wonder and slight shock. The thing Jesse brings that most people have not seen is the fact that he is in a wheelchair. After his accident most people thought he would lose his sense of humor, the result was quite the opposite. Jesse uses the fact that he’s in a wheelchair to his advantage using it in his jokes and to bring even more excitement to his show. He doesn’t let it get in his way or even slow him down.
Now his comedy has taken him all over the country entertaining people in all kinds of venues. Jesse is asked to come back after shows clean or dirty. He started out as an adult only comedian but has slowly transitioned and made his way into the clean venues as well. One night He will do a show at a rehab reunion, the next night he'll do a show that leaves the dirty mined people speechless.
Here are a few things people had to say:
"A young comedian with an old school attitude"
"He had us rolling out of our seats"
"You're funny and with being in a wheelchair have a hook like no other comic I know... and I know lots!"
"We can't wait for him to come back"
