RICHARD LEWIS “TRACKS OF MY FEARS TOUR”
Richard Lewis loves stand-up. His current criss-crossing of the country is “The Tracks Of
My Fears Tour.” It’s flung him from Washington to Chicago, Texas, New York and now
on to Arizona, Maryland, Michigan, Los Angeles, Fl. an east coast run and more through
2013. The so-called “Prince of Pain” is still excited by live performance. In referring to
his stand-up he notes--"I go on a long tour, make people happy that they're not me, and
go home."
This was also recently reflected by Howard Reich of the Chicago Tribune "To this
day, [Lenny] Bruce's foremost heir -- comedian Richard Lewis -- conveys the lightning
energy of a solo by bebop icon Charlie Parker."
Comedy Central has recognized Mr. Lewis as one of the top 50 stand-up comedians of
all time and he was charted on GQ Magazine's list of the '20th Century's Most Influential
Humorists'. Lewis' neuroses have become a part of our vernacular with "I had a date
from Hell!" In 2006, he finally got his due when Yale's Book of Quotations attributed the
now-common phrase, "the [blank] from hell" to him.
He’s loved having been a part of HBO’s eight seasons of "Curb Your Enthusiasm",
alongside his longtime friend, Larry David. The free-wheeling spirit of the show fit like a
glove.
He’s been in a broad spectrum of films, ranging from the cult-classic mocumentary,
“Diary of a Young Comic”, on to “Leaving Las Vegas” and the critically acclaimed indie,
“Drunks”.
