The Comedy Store - Hollywood - The Main Room 8433 W Sunset Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90069 View Map

The Tony Clifton LateNite Revue
Tony Clifton, alter ego of comic genius, Andy Kaufman, will be taking up residence at the world famous Comedy Store on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, for an evening of music, mayhem and sexual anarchy starting Thursday, May 31 and running for a limited engagement during Thursday and Friday nights in June. Clifton will be backed by a 14-member cast featuring his kick-ass band, The Cliftones; and his young, tantalizing burlesque dancers, the Cliftonettes - all joining in to celebrate a milestone event: the 28th anniversary of Andy Kaufman’s mysterious disappearance.

Also during every show, Tony will conduct his groundbreaking Hooker Raffle! The winner will receive a roundtrip flight from Los Angeles to Reno, Nevada; then chauffeured to Dennis Hof's World-Famous Moonlite BunnyRanch, a legal Nevada brothel as seen on HBO. The winner will meet Dennis and the girls, and select one to party with.

In May 2010, Tony gave a preview of this upcoming show at the Comedy Store to four sold out nights and standing ovations. The popular demand for more Tony was born here.

Clifton was discovered by Andy Kaufman in 1969, while performing in a seedy lounge in Las Vegas. Captivated, Kaufman engaged Tony to open for him on several occasions, most notably his historic "Carnegie Hall Concert." Clifton’s most controversial appearance was witnessed by the cast of the hit ABC-TV show Taxi. Tony showed up to rehearsal drunk and with two hookers in tow, and was promptly escorted off the Paramount lot by armed security.

Clifton has appeared on such shows as David Letterman and Jimmy Kimmel, and was Miss Piggy’s love interest on her television special. Clifton starred opposite Jim Carrey in the Milos Forman film “Man on the Moon."

Jack Daniels is a proud sponsor of the "Tony Clifton Revue." Every night gorgeous Jack Daniels girls will be pouring free shots in Jack Daniels souvenir keepsake glasses.
