Why did we develop LaughStub.com?  Because we believe that not only does comedy need a technology upgrade, but also because we love live comedy.  Stay put, a lot more to come, and I’m sure you’ll like what you see.

Hello and welcome.

LaughStub.com was born out of a love for live comedy.

Much like music, theater, art, or many other mediums, there is no equivalent to watching comedy live.  People have told me that they’ve seen stand up on Comedy Central, occasionally watch SNL, or have been to an open mic once that their friend dragged them to.   But until you have been to a comedy club with a room full of people all sharing the same laughs, the human connectivity that laughter brings, you haven’t experienced live comedy.

But even people who are self-described live comedy fans tell me all the time that they don’t know where to go, what shows they’d like, or if the weekend headliner fits their sense of humor.  WE LACK ACCESS TO INFORMATION ABOUT LIVE COMEDY.  I can yelp to know where the best taco stand is, read a hundred critics’ opinions about a movie, and yet, there is no source to help me find a good live comedy show.. until now.

LaughStub will strive to be your insight into what shows are really funny, where they are, who’s performing, what you need to know, and we will get you tickets. (often even at a discount!)

From there, we will ask you what and who on a show you liked so that we can tell you when they are playing next and tell you about other shows that match your sense of humor.  You can also search on our site for live comedy shows by date, comedy type (African American, political, dirty, clean, etc), comedian, or venue.

You can rate shows and comics, share people you like with your friends, and build your reward points for things like free tickets and merchandise, meet and greet with a famous comedian, or VIP status at the club.

Basically, live comedy is entering the new millennium.  We appreciate your business, you spending time on the site, joining our community, and spreading the laughter.
