LaughStub What’s the Benson Interruption all about?

Doug Benson I invite my stand-up pals to perform and then I sit on stage with them with a microphone and, as the title suggests, interrupt. But not in an annoying way. In a two-friends-trying-to-make-the-audience-laugh way.

LaughStub Which comedians are the most fun to have as guests at the show?

Doug Benson As long as they’re friends of mine, I like ‘em all. I’ve tried doing it with people I don’t know very well, and it can get hella awkward.

LaughStub It looks like the Benson Interruption is headed on the road to S.F., is the comedy scene different in S.F. than it is in L.A.?

Doug Benson Not really. Both cities have a lot of comedy fans and and a lot of stoners. Which works out great for me!

LaughStub You do a podcast called “I Love Movies”. What do you look for in a good movie?

Doug Benson I just want it to keep my interest. Too many movies are too long or tell stories that have been told before. It’s getting to the point where I’d rather watch an old favorite than take a chance on something new.

LaughStub What are your thoughts on Avatar?

Doug Benson I already expressed my thoughts on Twitter, and took a ton of shit for it. People love it. I heard that it causes depression in some people, because the real world can’t live up to the fantasy world in the movie.

LaughStub We read your Tweets…and saw that you went to Vegas this past weekend. Can you give us the scoop on the Consumer Electronics Show and the porn convention?

Doug Benson They both featured breakthroughs in dildo technology.

LaughStub Is the Sunday after the porn convention at McCarran Airport the greatest day in history or the scariest?

Doug Benson Great and scary in equal measure!

LaughStub Has Twitter been a blessing or a curse?

Doug Benson A total blessing. I love writing jokes and keeping in touch with my friends and fans. I check my Twitter account constantly. Ok, maybe it is a curse.

LaughStub What are your New Years resolutions?

Doug Benson I don’t have any. Yeah, things are that perfect.

LaughStub You are a pop culture expert, give us your predictions for 2010? Is this the year Kim and Reggie finally tie the knot?

Doug Benson I don’t know who those people are.
