Nick Swardson is a funny guy. If you loved watching him in Reno 911 or in the classic stoner flick Grandma’s Boy, then you will definitely love him in the new projects he has coming out. Lucky for us, there are many projects because Nick has been a force of nature, a friggin whirlwind of comedy and below we have collected a sample of what is ahead so you can become swept away by the funny. First there is his short parody of a popular internet porn franchise, which Nick did with FunnyOrDie.com.

Then Swardson has the 2nd season of his sketch TV show on Comedy Central, Pretend Time.  It’s full of classic comedy moments and many cameo’s from other comedians like Al Madrigal and Nick Kroll. Here is a clip from last season, if you haven’t seen the show; it  examines the life of Lady Gaga’s brother. Pretend Time Returns on October 5th!

If that wasn’t enough to satisfy a Nick Swardson fan, there is also a new movie coming out called: Bucky Larson: Born to be a Star. The costume Nick wears is ridiculous in a snorting milk out-of-your-nose way, and this new film that opens on September 9th promises to be just has outrageous and entertaining as his other projects.

As the Summer fades away in Los Angeles, the talk turns toward what movies will be coming out this fall. Things appear to be grim, because the usual parade of Sequals (Twilight),  Remakes (Footloose) and 3D gimick flicks (Shark Night 3D) will be disappointing many at the box office.

We may find ourselves scratching our heads whilst wondering what compels a studio executive to green light these cinematic mutants, because these decisions seem to defy logic. Thankfully we found a few videos that illuminate the pitches and processes behind the films, and we can understand where and why these films go astray and grab a laugh while doing it. *Hey, if the laugh isn’t provided in the movie, we will take it at the expense of the movie.

Scot Richardson, The CEO & founder of LaughStub was on The Comedy Sideshow Podcast and talked with Theo Von about the state of the industry and how LaughStub fits into it for comedians, promoters and comedy clubs around the world. For every 20 nerds to go to Comi-Con in San Diego, there are hundreds who couldn’t make the journey this year, like us in the offices of LaughStub.

Fortunately for all of us who couldn’t make it, there are some comically inclined Youtubers like Mediocre Films, who were able to share their awkward experiences with booth babes and the costumed cuties. They had the creepy interactions, so you didn’t have to. So let’s bow in thanks, strap on your web-shooters and get your geek on!

Do you like sponges? Do you love them? Do you think about them in the shower? How about when you’re in bed or when your in the attic, rocking back and forth while in a fetal position? No?  Well that is because you are sane, and have a healthy disregard of sponges.

If you have been hitting the movie theaters lately, then you have probably seen  a lot of wizards slinging their spells at each other. Like in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows (part2), where little orphan Harry busts some crazy lyrics before shooting some wand juice at his arch enemy Voldemort.

These battles are fierce, and in someways remind us of many a gangster film, like Boyz in the Hood. Both have battles over territory, both have homies getting capped and both have characters wearing absurd clothing choices (silk shirts and pleated pants? Really boyz?). Well it seems others have noticed this similarity between wizards and gangsters and their shared love of slinging words along with projectiles, and now we have this awesome YouTube video made by Nice Peter that pits Harry Potter’s Dumbledore vs Gandalf (from Lord of the Rings). So don your hoody and get ready to sway to these phat beatz!

Some people will tell you that Laughter is the secret to long life, and others will tell you it’s all about taking vitamins, exercise and colon cleansers. Well during our intense research of news programs we discovered this video full of insight from classic cinema star Ernest Borgnine (91 years old in this video,) and after viewing it we are confident that our lives will be loooooong.

Now that Google+ is entering the social media ring, everyone seems to be re-evaluating their support of Facebook. While Facebook has its charms, not everyone is happy with how Facebook works. Especially The puppets below (Glove and Boots), who are frustrated with a friend name Mike whose Facebook activity is driving them insane. We have a Mike here at LaughStub, and we totally get it.
