Matt Ritter Bio
Matt Ritter is one of today’s hottest up and coming comedians. His clever and energetic brand of comedy has entertained audiences large and small across the country. He has performed at top venues including NOKIA Theatre in Times Square, House of Blues, and appears regularly at hotspots such as Gotham Comedy Club, Comix and the Hollywood Improv. When he’s not entertaining crowds locally, he can be found headlining for colleges and corporate functions across the country.
In addition to working shows and events, he has added his sharp humor as a guest commentator on CBS News, Fox News “On the Record” and MTV.com. He was recently featured on an episode of the show “Man Up Standup” on the Maverick Channel, on ComedyTime.tv and Askmen.com. He also has earned the title of one of “NY’s Funniest Residents” by Resident Magazine and has participated in the NY Underground Comedy Festival. He trained at the Upright Citizens Brigade and the People’s Improv Theater in New York and founded a sketch group with his sister called “Sibling Riflery” who recently appeared at the Skit Skat Live Sketch Festival. He is also a writer for various online publications, including Bitter Lawyer (an insightful and engaging entertainment site for lawyers), The Toilet Paper (a daily newsletter providing an intelligent and funny take on current events), as well as one of the members of the Gotham Jokewriters staff.
He also thinks the internet is the wave of the future! His viral video “Goldfellas” was featured on Comedy.com, Dealbreaker, Fierce Finace, the Wallstreet Journal online and WPIX News. He is a frequent guest on the “Man Panel” of the pop culture site, Crushable.com. Matt is also a semi-skilled guitarist and his first comedy music video “I’m the Kinda Guy” was featured on Comedy.com and is a cult favorite somewhere.
Before he was writing and performing, he spent his days as a corporate lawyer at a prominent New York law firm and then he decided that made no sense.
