Joey Rockenstein Bio
With a “rock star” last name, Joey Rockenstein, (his real last name,) knew he was destined for comedy, after learning one commonality from working various jobs ranging from “Pool-Lifeguard,” to “Bartender,” to portraying “Batman” at kid’s parties: it didn’t matter what he did… Joey was funny! Joey is the youngest of four, raised in a strict Irish household. “Growing up, we didn’t have bed times; we had ‘last call’!” As a kid, armed with a razor-quick-wit, Joey knew the best way to get out of a fight was to make everyone laugh so hard that they forgot there was supposed to be a fight. And if that didn’t work... RUN! After completing the BFA acting program at UC Santa Barbara, Joey, (a Sig Ep from the same school,) moved to Los Angeles to pursue comedy. Joey graduated summa cum laude at The I.O. West improv and writing programs. He now is a current performer and writer for many mainstage shows. Joey’s unique, (and at times,) sarcastic perspective involves growing up Catholic, (with a Jewish sounding last name;) living with Diabetes; to dealing with people who have no common sense. Joey performs regularly at The World Famous Improvs, The Comedy Store, and The Ice House in Los Angeles, and clubs, casinos, colleges, and corporate events all over the country. From VFW rooms, to auctions, to Vegas trade shows,… Joey Rockenstein delivers comedy absolution to audiences everywhere he takes the stage!
