Alex Backes Bio

Alex has been working professionally as an actor, sketch/ improv comic, and writer for the last 6 years.

You might recognize Alex from ad campaigns for companies such as Apple Computers, Quizno's, Nike, Arby's and others. Alex has been featured in a variety of online viral videos for The Second City Network as well as self produced comedic shorts. His various commercials and other videos have had over 3 million plays and counting online.

When he is not auditioning, Alex can be seen performing at various Los Angeles comedy institutions such as The Second City Hollywood, iO West, Bang, and many more. He recently returned to Hollywood after a five month journey with The Second City aboard Norwegian Cruise Lines. While he was away he performed sketch and improv comedy for thousands of vacationing cruisers.

Alex is currently working on a series of shorts that are the beginning stages of a full length feature film.

However, Alex isn't all work and no play. He also enjoys playing hockey, riding his fixed gear and playing guitar.
