Aaron Karo Bio
From the page to the stage, Aaron Karo’s insights and wit have secured his place as the
irreverent voice of a generation. His first one-hour stand-up special, Aaron Karo: The
Rest Is History, premiered November 19th, 2010, on Comedy Central.
The event marked the culmination of a career that began when Karo sent a funny email to
twenty friends from his freshman dorm room in September 1997. That forward spawned
an email column entitled Ruminations that soon earned him a worldwide following.
After a brief detour on Wall Street, Karo began performing stand-up in 2002 and now
headlines across the country. Simon & Schuster published compilations of his column in
two bestselling books, Ruminations on College Life and Ruminations on
Twentysomething Life. In 2008, he founded Ruminations.com, a user-generated humor
site and social network.
Also in 2008, Karo performed on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson and released
his debut stand-up album Just Go Talk to Her on Comedy Central Records.
The Rest Is History was filmed at the historic Wilbur Theatre in Boston during Karo‘s
nationwide tour to promote his third book, I‘m Having More Fun Than You, which
HarperCollins published in 2009.
Karo continues to write Ruminations to this day. His fourth book and first novel will be
published in 2012. Originally from New York, Karo graduated from the Wharton School
of the University of Pennsylvania. He currently lives in LA and hates it.
